Co-editor Michelle Ferrier, a longtime journalist, served as subject matter expert and performed the substantive editing on the major chapters.
Co-editor Elizabeth Mays, with over 10 years as a professional copy editor of magazines, books and textbooks, did final proofreading on each chapter and sidebar as well as several rounds of the full book prior to printing.
The co-editors also enlisted a retired copy editor to do additional copy editing to one chapter that proved particularly complex, and several volunteers from the Rebus Community with professional copy editing experience, to do so on three others.
The book was edited according to the Chicago Manual of Style, a style guide frequently used in book publishing.
