Rubric Improvements
Grantees offered invaluable feedback about the clarity, comprehensiveness, and usability of the rubric to enhance the rubric’s effectiveness and user-friendliness. Grantees suggested a high-level, one-page version of the rubric, a glossary of terms and resources to promote a shared understanding among all users, and acknowledging the complexities associated with different types of institutions. Some grantees felt that important aspects of an equity approach were either underrepresented or completely overlooked. They advocated providing guidelines for adapting the rubric for diverse language and linguistic contexts, expanding the use of inclusive pedagogy to include learning frameworks and taxonomies. Additionally, grantees expressed concern that the current political climate in the U.S. may make it difficult to garner administrative support for future use of an Equity-based rubric.
